SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A home north of downtown is seriously damaged after a fire broke out early Tuesday morning, according to the San Antonio Fire Department.

Crews responded around 1:30 a.m. to the 800 block of Ripley Avenue near West Magnolia Avenue.

The fire heavily damaged the attic and burned through parts of the roof. SAFD said additions to the home made it more difficult for firefighters to reach the attic.

A resident safely escaped the home. The fire was eventually contained, and the cause remains under investigation.
